Group Counseling
Group Counseling is intended to help individuals who would like to improve their ability to cope with difficulties and problems in their lives in a group setting with one or two therapists facilitating the session. The focus of group therapy is to help with solving emotional difficulties and encourage personal growth. In a group session we discuss many topics, such as substance abuse, parenting, relationship, employment, finances, skills development, active listening, grief, loss, etc.
Group members are encouraged to give feedback to other members, including expressing their own feelings about what someone says or does. Group therapy provides each person with an opportunity to try out new ways of behaving, and to learn more about the way they interact with others. It is a safe environment in which members make a commitment to the group to keep the content of the group sessions are confidential.
